Terry G. Adams – Attorney, President & CEO, Owner
Terry is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and The University of Memphis Law School. In addition, Terry has studied at the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation and the United States Army War College. Terry’s practice focuses on Real Estate & Development Law, Contracts, Negotiations, Commercial and Business Transactions & Litigation, Sports & Entertainment Law, and Estate Planning. He has served in the United States Navy Reserves (1989-1997) and consulted candidates for United States Senate and the US House of Representatives. In addition, Terry has worked as a professional actor and musician.
Terry grew up in Nashville, TN and currently sits on the Executive Committee for the Tennessee Bar Association’s Section on Sports and Entertainment Law, is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Knoxville Bar Association, and sits on the Community Advisory Board of the Junior League. In addition, Terry frequently speaks on the topics of Negotiation, Sports and Entertainment Law, and Entrepreneurship.
His latest venture is writing a memoir with legendary NFL Hall of Famer, Raymond Berry about Berry’s life as a player, a coach, and about the 1958 NFL Championship Game noted as the “greatest game ever played” by many sports scholars.
Terry has been peer reviewed and recognized in Knoxville’s Cityview Magazine as a “Top Attorney” in the areas of Real Estate & Development Law, Business & Commercial Law, Sports & Entertainment Law, and Contract Law.
His broad experience as an attorney, not only in real estate law, but also with business entities, estates, and probate matters, equips Terry to answer questions and quickly resolve the issues, both simple and complex, that can arise on a daily basis in the title industry.
Phillis Burnett – President, Owner
Phillis has over 30 years of experience in the mortgage and title industry. Prior to opening Admiral Title, Inc. with her husband, Terry Adams, Phillis worked with Mortgage Investors Group as a Loan Officer, and later Vice President and Production Manager. Phillis’ knowledge of the industry from both sides of the table enables her to answer any and all questions that might arise during a closing, and ensure a smooth closing process. Phillis has also served as the treasurer for the Knoxville Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors and former Affiliate Director and Line Officer for the Knoxville Mortgage Bankers Association.
Phillis grew up in Napa, California and moved to Knoxville, TN in 1976. She attended the University of Tennessee until she started her banking career with Valley Bank in 1979. Her broad experience in the banking and mortgage industry equips her to answer questions and resolves any issues, both simple and complex, that can arise on a daily basis in the title industry.
Phillis has two awesome children, a son in law and 2 wonderful grandbabies that live here in Knoxville, TN.
Dustin R. Landry – Attorney, Senior Associate
Dustin is a product of Lafayette, Louisiana and grew up in Sevier County, Tennessee. Admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2007, Dustin joined The Adams Law Firm and Admiral Title, Inc. in April of 2013. Dustin managed a title company and a satellite law office for his former firm. His experience, based in real estate, is vast having handled both complex litigation and transactions. Dustin graduated from the University of Tennessee with both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree with a focus on American Government and International Relations. Dustin received his Juris Doctor degree in 2007 from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida where he was a recipient of the Governor’s Merit Scholarship.
While attending law school Dustin had the opportunity to serve as an intern for the Honorable Thomas A. Varlan, Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and United Stated Senator, Lamar Alexander. Dustin is also an adjunct faculty member of South College where he teaches a variety of courses in the school’s Legal Studies Program including Real Estate Law, Evidence Law and Constitutional Law.
Dustin’s practice currently focuses on Real Estate Law, with a specific focus on title, land use and planning law. Dustin oversees all the Admiral Title, Inc.’s title searches and recordings. Like Terry, Dustin is available in office to help in resolving issues that arise daily.
Nancy Birchfiel Webber, Attorney, Senior Closing Agent, Knoxville Office Manager
Nancy Birchfiel Webber is a Maryville native who joined Admiral Title, Inc., to oversee Blount County operations and now manages our Knoxville office. Nancy is a powerful representative of the “Admiral Values” of Service, Professionalism, and Community.
Whether it has been as a lawyer, president of a small business, or as a highly skilled closing agent and manager, Nancy’s desire has always been to serve her clients at the highest level.
Nancy holds a degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University and a law degree from the University of Tennessee.
Upon graduation from UT, Nancy desired to help individuals purchase and protect the biggest investments of their lives: their real estate purchases. She then went to work for a law firm in South Florida where she practiced real estate law. When she returned to East Tennessee a few years later, family called and she went to work for her family’s business. As President of Ross Furniture Company, she used her years of expertise in law to grow the business and to serve the Maryville community.
When Ross Furniture was sold in 2006, Nancy returned to her first love: real estate. She went to work in the real estate title business where she managed all aspects of real estate closings, including performing the duties of abstracting, closing, and troubleshooting. Her background as an attorney and business person informs her “can do” attitude and is the reason she works so hard to make every transaction as smooth as it can be.
Delores Weeks – Senior Closing Agent, Oak Ridge Office Manager
Delores, former owner of Real Estate Title of Knoxville, Inc., joined the team at Admiral Title, Inc., in June 2013 and now manages our Oak Ridge office. She has over 20 years’ experience in the real estate title industry and is a licensed title agent. She enjoys working with real estate agents, lender, buyers and sellers in the closing process, while offering excellent service and attention to detail. She enjoys traveling, a good book, football and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
Dana Kelley – Senior Closing Agent, Lenoir City Office Manager
Dana joined our team when Real Estate Title of Knoxville, Inc., joined forces with Admiral Title, Inc., at the beginning of June, 2013, and now manages our Lenoir City office. She brings over 20 years’ experience in the Title and Mortgage industries. Her knowledge of the closing process from the beginning to the closing table adds valuable experience to our team. Her friendliness and organizational skills ensure a smooth process with each transaction. She is a dedicated wife and mother of three girls, enjoys spending time with family, boating, teaching her Sunday School class, and being a part of the Children’s Church Ministry.
Jenifer Marks – Closing Agent
Jenifer has been in the title industry for several years. With a background in marketing, she is dedicated to providing the best possible service to our clients. Her goal is to make each and every transaction as smooth and as swift as possible, while expertly lending to the details inherent in any successful real estate closing.
Lindsay Talmont – Closing Agent
Lindsay got her start in the title industry right out of high school. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Florida Atlantic University. She is professional, thorough, and detail oriented – qualities that make her a crucial part of our team. Her experience at all points of the closing process makes our clients confident that they are in good hands.
Christin Johnson – Closing Specialist
Christin has become an invaluable asset to our team. Quickly advancing from her role in customer support into her current position as Closing Specialist, she offers friendly assistance and possesses the highest organizational skills to ensure all closing questions are never left unanswered.
Destiny Hicks – Closing Specialist
Destiny has been in the title industry for 5 years and really enjoys working with our clients. She works with Delores in our Oak Ridge office. She moved to Tennessee from Florida in 2015 with her husband and two daughters. Outside of work, she stays busy with her girls in basketball, softball and cheerleading.
Debi Ilea – Closing Specialist
Debi joined our team recently, after 15 years as a paralegal for a firm where, among other things, she reviewed title work and loan documents for mortgage foreclosure filings. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science, with a minor in English. With her background and experience, and her knack for organization and meticulousness, she is a valuable addition to our team.
Ashley Osgood – Closing Processor
Ashley comes to Admiral Title from our law firm partner, Adams Law, where she was an integral team member since May 2015. She has an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Pellissippi State Community College. With her legal background, efficiency, and organization, she brings an invaluable skill set to our process which benefits our clients.
Madeline Loving – Closing Processor
Madeline works with us part time while pursuing Public Administration and Economics degrees from the University of Tennessee. She is efficient and personable. Her ability to multitask and organizational skills, along with her willingness to step up and help in any situation, make her an integral member of the Admiral Title team.
Diane Mitchell – Client Service Specialist
Diane is the smiling face and welcoming personality that greets you when you call or visit Admiral Title. She is currently working on her degree in Early European History, with a minor in French. Her specialty is putting clients at ease and making sure their visit to our office is as pleasant as possible. Whether managing our multi-line phone system or helping those in our lobby, her attitude and sunny outlook make her a joy to have on staff.
Kendall Benson – Assistant
Kendall is helping us part time while she earns her degree in Animal Science, pre-Vet, from the University of Tennessee. No matter how complex or simple the task, her personable, can-do attitude and willingness to help at the drop of a hat make her an indispensable addition to our team.
Bruce Butler – Attorney, Of Counsel
Bruce is a valuable asset to the Admiral Team performing title searches and providing detailed, solution-based, assessments of title issues. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, School of Law, and has practiced in Tennessee since 1979.
